The City of Aiken set Thursday as the deadline to sign an annexation agreement to receive a two year city property tax refund. After the deadline the rebate drops to one year. Half the total tax amount is paid at signing. the other half after annexation. City planner Sandra Korbelik encourages commercial and residential property owners in donut hole areas to act, noting services begin before tax bills arrive.
