Shepherd ends eight year run as county administrator in Aiken
William "Bill" Shepherd leaves the Aiken County Administrator post after eight years marked by growth and a near ten million dollar reserve. He arrived amid debt, pushed for tax restraint, and oversaw EMS expansion, recycling, a regional landfill, a new jail, and a research campus linked to the Savannah River Site. His wife notes his stable Army career and devotion to public service and quality of life in Aiken.
