Center Opens And A Play Closes With Parties and Honors

An Evening in September at USC Aiken Etherredge Center drew hundreds as donors and subscribers toured the near finished arts hub. Chancellor Bob Alexander and wife welcomed guests while tickets for the 1986 Cultural Series drew interest for Dizzy Gillespie and the Joffrey II Dancers.

Arts Council Presents An Evening With The Arts In Aiken

The Aiken County Arts Council hosts Jazz At Joye on Friday October 4 at 6 p.m. at Joye Cottage ball room with Augusta College Jazz Ensemble led by Mike Brown playing popular tunes. Tickets are $5 per person with memberships available. free parking offered at Joye Cottage and nearby Church of Christ Scientist on Whiskey Road.

Quilts At Aiken County Museum Quilt Show Dates Set

The Aiken County Historical Museum announces its annual quilt show from October 17 to 31 with daily public hours 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays. The museum closes October 15–16 and November 1 for quilt return. A film on quilts in women’s lives screens October 17 at 7 p.m. in the library conference room beside the museum. Four mini-workshops run 9:30–11:30 a.m. October 22 through October 30 with costs 9, 7, 7, and 7 dollars. group price 25 dollars if all four taken.
