Graniteville Woman Charged With DUI And Child Endangerment

Nikki Johnson, 31, faces driving under the influence open container and child endangerment charges after a Sept. 17 incident on Ludlow Lake Road. A patrol stop found an open mango vodka bottle and three young children in the silver Nissan. Johnson injured no one but was detained at the Aiken County detention center and released after posting bond.

BLOTTER REPORTS MULTIPLE Aiken COUNTY INCIDENTS

Sheriff's logs show a Graniteville driver struck a vehicle at an Atomic Road salon and left. A North Augusta resident reported a burglary on Old Ludlow Lake Road. An East Pine Log Road resident received obscene texts from a 34-year-old man. Break-ins occurred at Pacer Park Lane and Seneca Avenue residences. A Lanier Road dispute involved a rap battle and assault. A Beech Island man reported an assault during an argument on Lanier Road. A 59-year-old on Outing Club Road reported thefts. A 20-year-old Graniteville man was charged with third-degree assault after threatening others with a knife on Williston Road. A 36-year-old Georgia man faced domestic violence charges after an assault on Banks Mill Road. A 24-year-old Aiken woman was charged with disorderly conduct after intoxication on University Parkway. Shots were reported on George Street with a bullet hole found in a car. A 22-year-old North Augusta woman was arrested on active warrants after being pulled over on Aldrich Street.

Aiken Oktoberfest Returns With Food Music and Games

The fourth Aiken Oktoberfest hosted by Aiken Downtown Development Association and USC Aiken runs Saturday from 6 to 10 30 p m at Hayne Avenue and Pendleton Street. German and non German foods beer and non alcoholic drinks are sold with tokens at 5 each. The Foothills Oompah Band performs Stein hoisting and a football game screening are on tap along with Run for the Roses charity run at 6 p m benefiting Children s Hospital of Georgia and the Arthritis Foundation. Proceeds support the charities.

Aiken Oktoberfest Returns With Beer and Wine Tokens

The fourth annual Aiken Oktoberfest runs 6 to 10 30 p.m. on Saturday at the corner of Hayne Avenue and Pendleton Street in downtown Aiken. General admission is 20 dollars, USC Aiken students pay 15 dollars, with beer or wine tokens at 5 dollars each. Children ages 10 and under enter free.

Heart Beat Goes On campaign aids 600th heartworm dog

Aiken County rescue group Shelter Animals Advocates aims to place its 600th heartworm positive dog since August 2013. Zhu-Li, a 3 year old shepherd mix, will be moved from the county shelter Friday and showcased at a Saturday adoption event at A Paw Above in North Augusta from 10 am to 2 pm.
