Trojans Overpower Dixie For Third Win

Ridge Spring Monetta defeated Dixie 38 to 6 to stay undefeated in its third win of the season. The Trojans dominated with 473 rushing yards led by Gordon Stevens and Donald Mincey while limiting Dixie’s offense. Coach Buford McGee praised the line as the primary factor in the win and slated a rivalry showdown with Wagener-Salley next.

Penalties Help Gaffney Defeat North Augusta 14-3

North Augusta led 3-0 on Scott Davis field goal but three controversial penalties swung momentum to ninth ranked Gaffney. A late third quarter unsportsmanlike call extended a drive, leading to a yard TD by Wallace, and a late defensive turnover nonchalantly changed field position. Gaffney benefited from two more dubious calls and disciplined defense, while North Augusta lamented inconsistent officiating as they dropped to 0-3 in three outings.
