Aiken's Makin Crowded Downtown Arts and Crafts Fair
Aiken's Makin features 176 arts and crafts exhibits along Richland and Laurens streets with homemade goods and batik style displays. Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. showcase entertainment from aerobics to mime and square dancing plus industrial demonstrations from 17 county industries. attendance already exceeds 20,000 in its five year run.

A two car collision near Clearwater sent six children to University Hospital in Augusta. A 1970 Chevrolet west on S C 421 struck a 1978 Oldsmobile carrying eight children into a ditch.
