Patrice Tavernier and husband Dave built a 3100 square foot custom home in Woodside Plantation designed with global influences from the Florida Keys to Istanbul. Architect Hank Moormann and Johnson Construction built the house, begun December 1998, with move in to March this year and remaining finishing touches.

Drag racer survives fiery crash at Carolina Dragway
A professional IHRA racer escaped serious injury after his car spun out 60 feet from the start, hit the wall, and burned during the Night Under Fire event in Jackson. Co owner Jeff Miles Jr said the driver, unnamed, was airlifted as a precaution but was in great shape the next day. Fire crews contained the blaze quickly, and the racer wore full protective gear.
