Louis Bernard Anderson died September 8 2008 at Southern Maryland Hospital Clinton Maryland with his son George by his side He was born February 26 1917 in Zanesville Ohio to James Raymond Anderson and Lelia Weaver Anderson He served 30 plus years with DC Police rising to lieutenant retiring in 1975 He then worked 20 years as assistant director of security at Metro Transit Police He was married to Donna M Henderson and Dorothy N Anderson both predeceased him He is survived by a former wife three daughters Patricia Stewart Eileen Ray Arlene Toler three sons Louis B Anderson Jr George A Anderson Miguel B Anderson a stepdaughter Barbara Tibbs Harvey a nephew Michael Anderson a niece Kim Simmonds 11 grandchildren and many greats He spent much of his DC service at Cardozo and Dunbar high schools and was prized by students and staff for guidance He will be remembered as a principled officer and trusted confidant Interment at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery in Hillcrest Heights Maryland Services at St Philip the Evangelist Episcopal Church Washington DC on Sept 30 followed by burial Condolences at Marshalls Funeral Home website
