Feathers in amber reveal diverse ancient dinosaurs
Researchers led by Ryan C. McKellar report in Science that amber from western Canada preserves feathers from about 70 to 90 million years ago, showing a range from simple filaments to complex colored feathers. The findings suggest feather diversity and development into modern birds before dinosaurs went extinct.
