Tax preparer testifies in Claiborne impeachment trial
Accountant Charlotte Travaglia, described as steaming with anger, testified about allegedly botching Judge Harry Claiborne’s 1980 tax return. The case centers on Claiborne who was convicted in 1984 of tax evasion and is serving a two year sentence, while remaining in office pending Senate action. Rep. William Hughes described Travaglia as present and Watson admitted to paying her for the work.
