Swiss uranium shipment arrives at Savannah River Site from Basel
About 2.2 kilograms of highly enriched uranium spent fuel from Switzerland arrived at the Savannah River Site as part of the Global Threat Reduction Initiative. The material from the AGN 211-P reactor at the University of Basel was moved to SRS with NNSA officials citing efforts to secure and minimize use of HEU.

Aiken man marks 100th birthday milestone at home
Woody Gilmer of Aiken Estates turned 100 amid cake and family. A native of Centerville Tennessee he helped start up nuclear projects at Hanford Oak Ridge and later joined Savannah River Site in 1950 retiring 1979. He championed Trinity United Methodist Church and South Aiken High School while leading large construction teams and mentoring staff.
