Vision United Way volunteers to help Aiken County

United Way of Aiken County mobilizes about a thousand volunteers for Project VISION on Friday. Volunteers In Service In Our Neighborhoods will meet at H O Weeks Activities Center at 7 30 a m and spread across Aiken County to build wheelchair ramps repair windows plumbing and roofs and create a deck for the Tri Development Center Belvedere and North Augusta Satellite. They will also haul trash cut lawns trim hedges and clean homes for those unable to do so. A celebratory street party at The Alley will close the day with free hot dogs fried chicken and drinks from sponsors as kickoff to the 1998 campaign.
