Jaws of Life Used After Two Vehicle Crash on U S Highway 1

Two people were injured when a red GMC Sonoma and a four door Volvo collided on U S Highway 1 around 6 p m. Firefighters from Gran iteville Vaucluse Warrenville used the jaws of life to free the truck driver and both victims were taken by ambulance to area hospitals. Eastbound lanes remained one lane for over an hour during the rescue.

Investigation continues in Beech Island woman missing case

Aiken County sheriff investigators persist in pursuing leads in the disappearance of Lisa Shuttleworth a 34 year old Beech Island resident reported missing after she spoke to her daughter Sept 4. She is 5 feet 3 inches tall weighs 102 pounds and was last seen walking near her home. Police urge anyone with information to call 800 922 9709.
