Two prisoner deaths in three days shake Aiken Center
Aiken County Detention Center reported the second inmate death in three days. Dwight Benjamin Long, 50, of Durham North Carolina, died at 7:29 a.m. after five days in custody on a disorderly conduct charge. An autopsy cited a heart attack from inflamed heart. City: Aiken Regional Medical Centers. The other death involved Shawn Michael Roccia, 25, of Ridge Spring, who died at 6:14 p.m. Roccia had HIV and pneumonia and was in custody since March awaiting trial for homicide and related charges.
