Reactor Startup Team Disbands After L Reactor Upgrades
The L-Reactor Startup Team is disbanded as of Sept. 1 after existing operating groups assume responsibility for L Area. Formed in 1979 to renovate the L-Reactor to meet higher plutonium production goals, the unit worked to restore the reactor to forward standards. Walt Joseph will become Superintendent of the Equipment Engineering Department, replacing Bill Anderson, who transfers to Savannah River Laboratory as research manager on special assignment to John Stewart.
