Aiken’s Makin’ celebrates early birthday and crafts
Aiken native Alice Grace Burgess Miller, soon to be 87, joined the Aiken’s Makin’ festival in a white suit and pearls, aiming to match a sapphire shirt with horse imagery. Regulars Barbara Shealy and Homer Clamp from Batesburg-Leesville showcased oak refurbished desks, while Brookshire and his Pomeranian enjoyed the booths. Stephen Huntley and family sampled Stuffed Puppies and praised the festival’s food and crafts. Larry Wood reports on education for the Aiken Standard.
