FDA says chicken pox vaccine is safe and effective
FDA press review states three years of data show the varicella vaccine to be generally safe and effective for preventing chicken pox. Most adverse events are minor, with 14 deaths under investigation being not clearly linked. The study urges further research and notes about 10 million doses sold through July 1998.
