Aiken's Makin' festival marks 20th year in downtown
The Aiken County craft show opens its 20th annual event with more than 200 crafters along Park Avenue and downtown streets. An expected 30,000 visitors will enjoy food and entertainment from noon to evening hours today and tomorrow. Performers include Southland Express Burns Dance Studio Aiken Community Band Aiken Ballet Midland Valley Church of the Nazarene South Aiken High School Dames and Aiken Gymnastics with a celebrity waiter race and wandering minstrel Dick Irons. Sponsored by the Aiken Chamber of Commerce.
