Aiken High grad recalls safe escape from ground zero
Aiken High School alumna Kouyoumjian, then 27, worked near the World Trade Center south tower on 9/11 and survived after taking an escalator to a Tribeca subway. She recalled the chaos, blood drives, and the long search for loved ones before reuniting in Jersey City. She now works at GE Energy in Greenville and lives in upstate South Carolina.
