Memorial tour begins in Columbia with steel beam tribute
Jason Viglione, a U S Air Force member, publicly honors his late uncle a New York City firefighter who died at the World Trade Center by signing a four ton thirty seven foot steel beam to travel to more than a dozen cities for a national September 11 memorial and museum project. The beam center piece includes photos and a minute by minute timeline of the disaster and will contribute to the World Trade Center memorial. The beam was crafted by Owen Steel Co of Columbia and the tour kicks off near Fort Jackson with local officials and victims families signing messages of remembrance.
