Doctor Discusses Stress Related Diseases For Rotary Club
Dr. Jose Lizarribar of North Augusta spoke to the North Augusta Rotary about stress and health, noting 75 percent of medical disorders are stress related and that coronary disease has risen 500 percent in 50 years. He urged balancing overload and listening to the body. Richard Miley introduced him as the club meets weekly at Quincys Steak House.

Aiken Unit of Cancer Society Sets Twelfth Anniversary
The Aiken Unit marks its 12th anniversary in October after founding in 1974. Director Mary Ellen Gunter outlined services for patients families and friends and education for Aiken County with 181 of 400 county patients served last year and programs reaching about 4 000 adults and 13 500 school children. The unit offers limited financial aid and equipment and operates I Can Cope and Road to Recovery programs to assist coping and transportation to treatment. A slide on Taking Control highlighted healthy living tips as club president Harold E. Raymond welcomed members of the 50 Plus Club.

Dr H Alan Schifferli a Aiken dentist and five co-defendants face controlled substance charges. All but assistant Mary Harris posted bonds. Harris summoned for arraignment Sept 18.
