City lists FEMA woes and Woodside reimbursements

Hughes noted the February decision to bring in outside help stemmed from health and safety concerns for residents after roads in the gated Woodside area would be last to be cleared. FEMA reimbursements were denied for both Woodside and Kalmia Landing. The city weighed options for Woodside debris refunds up to 85 percent or a per cubic yard rate, with total potential reimbursements of about 247000 or 76000. City reports show FEMA totals and remaining balances, while a new 10000 contract with the Urban Land Institute South Carolina aims to revitalize Aiken's Northside Crosland Park.

He warned that airstrikes or any military action have long term effects and stressed the need to plan how such a campaign ends. Hagel has met with allies at NATO and during visits to Turkey and Georgia while consulting Congress about President Obama's forthcoming plan to broaden the campaign.
