Irradiated P Area sewer system closed at SRS
The $2.3 million Recovery Act project at the Savannah River Site remediated about three miles of P Area process sewer lines and isolated radiological contamination to prevent future environmental mobilization. Work sealed access points with concrete, isolating structures and basins, and stopped water flow. The effort, managed by Savannah River Nuclear Solutions and Avisco Inc, advances P Area closure and possible reuse plans.

Traveling consignment shop makes Aiken its inaugural stop
Carolina Divine Consign opens in Aiken as its first stop in South Carolina. Ash lyn Gray and Megan Dangerfield founded a children’s seasonal shop and organized 30 consigners and 15 volunteers for the sale through Saturday. Proceeds support Aiken Pregnancy Care Center and Helping Hands of Aiken. consigners may pick up Sunday or donate unsold items. Monday and Friday hours shown, sale held at the Aiken Shrine Club.
