She is a USC Aiken nursing student in her final year, volunteers with Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club, tutors in Ridge Spring, serves as a nursing assistant at the Child Advocacy Center, and is on the dean's list. Patterson aspires to pediatrics nursing for underprivileged children and notes the fear and loneliness seen in children at the advocacy center.

Police investigate armed robbery on South Boundary Avenue
Aiken Public Safety investigates an alleged armed robbery at 900 block South Boundary Avenue SE after a 59 year old resident said a white male forced him to the floor at gunpoint and two others searched the home taking electronics and money. The incident remains under investigation. Brown charged with four counts of second degree burglary in connected cases, fingerprint linked to a window, listed arrests and detentions.

Man jailed for knifepoint holdup in Aiken
Aiken man Derrick Coleman, 19, is jailed on assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature after allegedly holding a 58 year old man at knifepoint Sunday evening while the victim hit golf balls on Teague Street. The suspect was identified by the victim and jailed at the Aiken County detention center.

Man charged after breaking into Hampton Avenue store
A 47 year old Aiken man Anthony Stevens was jailed after a bike patrol officer saw him throw a brick through a door and break into a Hampton Avenue convenience store. He is charged with burglary and reportedly took 15 cartons of cigarettes.
