SRNS Leadership Changes and DOE Audit Findings at Savannah River Site
SRNS began an unexpected swift retirement of former CEO Chuck Munns, a retired US Navy admiral, while DOE audits show mixed results with criticisms in some practices and proficiency in others. The extension of SRNS’s management and operating contract runs from August 1, 2013 to September 2016, totaling about 8 billion dollars, with URS and SRS roles noted as major contractors and liquid waste remediation partner respectively.

Cottage continued sparks debate on home bakers and regulations
Hixon argues state rules aim to limit government overreach as he notes people routinely buy home baked goods. The debate centers on homemade jams, jellies and baked items not needing refrigeration and the need for labeling and exemption paperwork for sales at markets.
