Second annual CSRA Coin Club show draws wide interest

Dealers from Georgia and South Carolina displayed coins, medals, paper currency and exonumia at St. Angela Hall in Aiken. Exhibits ranged from a 2000 year old Claudius coin to Titanic themed pieces, with token and mill token displays from Langley to Augusta. Aiken Council Plans Purchase of Old Playhouse Building

The City of Aiken discusses buying the old Aiken Community Playhouse at Two Notch Road and Price Avenue for 125000 to help reduce a nearly 1 million loan. Officials say sale proceeds would lower the loan balance to just over 300000 by July 2004. Work session at 615 PM and regular meeting at 730 PM in Park Avenue Municipal Center.

Guidance counselor leads South Carolina Counseling Association

Merriwether Elementary School guidance counselor Donna Forrest, elected 2003-04 president of the South Carolina Counseling Association, began her term July 1 after a Myrtle Beach convention weekend. Forrest, 15-year district veteran, also teaches adjunct at Augusta State University and runs a private pastoral counseling practice.
