One On One Literacy Council Volunteers Help Open Doors
FRAN CHAPMAN reports on the Aiken County Literacy Council during National Literacy Month. The Laubach method trains tutors to help about 5 000 local adults who cannot read or write, many seeking high school equivalency or GED. Over 200 tutors exist but active tutors are fewer. more volunteers are urged to answer the call at 1 800 922 1109.
