Guardsmen Celebrate Birthday On Post Fort Stewart unit prepares for Mideast deployment
At Fort Stewart Georgia a Graham Harris family birthday gathering became a scene of soldiers readying for possible duty in the Middle East. The 265th Quartermaster Detachment, a 14 man South Carolina National Guard unit, passes time with limited post tours and a Spartan barracks while awaiting mobilization. Family members travel from Allendale to share the moment, as leaders remind the unit they are part of a larger reserve force headed to duty.
