Shaw Injured as South Carolina Beats Vanderbilt in Season Opener

South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier said starting QB Connor Shaw can barely lift his right arm after a helmet to the shoulder and will miss several days of practice. Shaw has a deep bone bruise and may miss the home opener versus East Carolina, with Dylan Thompson as backup. Marcus Lattimore rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns despite lingering knee concerns, and Brandon Shell’s sprained ankle temporarily weakens the line.
