USC Aiken baseball coach Kenny Thomas says the third annual Fantasy Baseball Game will be entertaining and feature surprising plays at Roberto Hernandez Stadium. The seven inning event starts with player introductions at 7 pm and first pitch ten minutes later, with $5 admission.
The USC Aiken event features a fantasy baseball game on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Roberto Hernandez Stadium, with proceeds including a Friday oyster roast and low country boil at The Big Red Barn. East Aiken School of the Arts adds theater educator Crissie Sturgis to expand arts integration for kindergarten through fifth grade. Sturgis brings experience from Battery Creek and Summerville High Schools and aims to link theater to core lessons, helping self-conscious older students while younger ones stay freely expressive.

Willowbrook Cemetery tours kiln opening and vendors The History Press and The University of South Carolina Press will display at Trinity Episcopal Church parish hall along with speakers on Dave the famous slave potter Cherokee Trail African American genealogy slave records Native Americans in the CSRA and Prince Rivers a former slave state legislator and Civil War sergeant who helped found Aiken County.
The Southern Studies Showcase will run September 19 and 20 with on site registration at Tompkins Memorial Library 104 Courthouse Square Edgefield.
