Major (Ret) James D Hardaway 80 of Thomson died Thursday in Aiken SC. He served in Korea and Vietnam earning a Bronze Star with Combat V and retired from the Marines in 1973. Survived by family including daughter Bess Garris and son Cliff Hardaway, a celebration is planned Sept 6 at Curtis Funeral Home with burial at Quantico. Dr John L Thompson 80 of Westerville OH died Aug 27 2013. An OSU Dental School graduate and longtime orthodontist, he bred horses in Aiken SC and Westerville. Visitation Sept 4 followed by a 6 PM memorial service at Moreland Funeral Home. Memorials to breast cancer research or Equine Rescue of Aiken.
