An Aiken man was detained for simple possession of marijuana after a caller reported suspicious activity in the parking lot at Colony Parkway. A woman tried to pay taxes with a counterfeit $20 from a Graniteville bank. Another man threatened arson over an eviction dispute. A counterfeit $50 passed at Rack Room Shoes on Whiskey Road. the woman claimed ignorance of its source.

Gloverville teen jailed for third degree arson
A 17-year-old from Gloverville, Matthew Blake Eustace, is jailed for arson in the third degree after witnesses identify him as one of two suspects in a Hickory Street fire on the evening of August 26. The abandoned house was reported as a drug house near his residence.
