Aiken Candlelight Vigil Highlights Domestic Abuse Plight
About 30 people gathered on the Aiken Judicial Center steps for a candlelight vigil honoring abused persons. Lois Hall shared her story and praised the Coalition to Assist Abused Persons, with Sen. Tom Moore and local leaders attending as the CAAP outlined services and plans for a new combined center housing shelter and main services. The event, part of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, aims to become an annual observance sponsored in part by United Way.
