DuPont Charged With Hindering National Health Registry

The AEC Savannah River Plant operated by DuPont is accused of not fully cooperating with the national health research program for workers exposed to plutonium. William D. Norwood, director of the U S Transuranium Registry, says the plant refuses autopsy permissions, hindering data from over 6,000 current and former workers and more than 40 autopsies. The registry aims to warn on health effects of low radiation doses and validate government exposure standards.
