Julia Fountain of Aiken won the Made in Aiken County Logo Contest out of 48 entries. Her design features AIKEN COUNTY PROUD in white on blue with a starburst and a Pride motto. Fountain earned a 250 dollar prize and the logo will appear on local goods.

Principal arrested for DUI at Hammond Hill Elementary
Michael Bradley Watson 39 of 527 Creighton Drive was arrested October 22 in North Augusta on DUI and open container charges after being pulled over for speeding and failing to maintain lane. He was placed on leave by the Aiken County Public School District pending an administrative investigation.
