St John s United Methodist hosts its Apple Fest fundraiser now in its 50 plus year tradition. The turn event features food entertainment consignment sale book corner Twice Loved Treasures Sale handmade items and apples plus a silent auction. Proceeds benefit ACTS Tri Development Center Salkehatchie and local groups. The festival runs Saturday November 3 from 8 am to 2 pm with donations and volunteers welcome.

Parker Daniels a nine year old with a love for dogs asked birthday guests to bring donations to the Aiken County Animal Shelter instead of gifts. His mother Dineen Daniels said the response showed children learn responsibility and care for animals. His five year old sister did the same for her birthday.
