The Trenton Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution marked its 100th year with a tea on October 17 at Darby Plantation near Edgefield. Regent Joan Butler welcomed State Regent Marilyn Altman. 101-year-old Ola Hitt charmed guests with memories of early chapter meetings.

AMAN Institute Inc led by Carol Spencer received a USDA Rural Development grant to operate and hire a second part time instructor. The nonprofit offers a three week CNA course at $400, down from $700, with monthly sessions and future plans for a two week EKG program. Prospective students must have a diploma or GED, pass a physical, and drug screening.
