Aiken to Observe White Ribbon Week Against Porn
Aiken will observe White Ribbon Week from October 28 to November 4 as the city council considers a proclamation. Councilman Fred B. Cavanaugh urged action after learning of the effort from Morality in Media Inc. and a radio program. He said porn harms kids and women and urged community standards. The program notes that repeated exposure links to deviant behavior and sex crimes, citing Dr. Victor B. Cline. Cavanaugh hopes other counties and states copy Aiken’s lead next year.
