Ford plan to equalize oil prices nationwide
Rep Robert H Steele says the Ford administration will announce a program to equalize oil prices. Treasury Secretary William E Simon told him the plan, to take effect in December, allows importers to buy price controlled domestic oil at 5.25 dollars per barrel and sell tickets to domestic refiners dependent on high priced oil.

Three Aiken Countians Killed In Weekend Wrecks
Three Aiken County residents died in weekend crashes. Richard Wayne Wilkins 21 of Belvedere and Mara Dean Slater 18 of North Augusta perished when their car left a curve on Highway 25 at high speed and struck a tree no seat belts were worn. Scover Lee Rooks 46 of Aiken died after his car overturned on Highway 56 in Richmond County about 1 12 a m Saturday. He died at University Hospital. Funeral services were held at George Funeral Home Chapel and Wesleyan Church Greenwood with burial at Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Rooks formerly of Social Circle Georgia had lived in Aiken since the early 1950s and worked for Savannah River Plant security. He was a World War II veteran and survived by his widow Mary Ann Thoms Rooks one stepson John Michael Rentz one sister and his mother.
