Iraq ratifies constitution despite Sunni Arab opposition
Iraq's Independent Election Commission announced the constitution was ratified by a wide margin after a 10 day audit. About 79 percent of 9.8 million voters supported the charter with strong Sunni opposition in Anbar Salahuddin Nineveh and Diyala. The vote clears the way for Dec 15 elections and continued political reform.
