Sunny Day musical explores Edgefield in 1960s setting
Edgefield County Theatre Company premieres an original musical Sunny Day set in October 1963 amid the civil rights era and Vietnam War. Five strangers meet at a bus station between New York and Edgefield, facing personal and external crises as they seek hope in a small town. The show, written by Leonard Todd, is directed by Bradley Watts with performances this weekend at 8 p.m. and matinees at 3 p.m. Tickets cost 20 dollars and can be reserved by calling 803-637-3833.

Life Choices aids expecting mothers and parents in Clearwater
Life Choices Pregnancy Care Center reports about 3,000 visits this year and serves around 400 clients annually. Executive director Kathryn Wade notes the group’s three part mission to protect unborn lives equip parents through classes and teach God designed sexuality. The nonprofit operates two centers on Silver Bluff Road and Jefferson Davis Highway with about 15 volunteers and an $80,000 budget funded by donors and churches.
