Brief Indicted Priest Admitted Mistreatment in Letter
Boston Globe reports former priest James R. Porter admitted to the Vatican in 1973 that he mistreated children in Massachusetts and four other states. Porter was indicted on 46 counts of sexual mistreatment in the 1960s and suspended by Fall River Diocese years earlier. Victims say no Catholic officials told parents about the confessions or the abuses.
