Skeletal remains found near Highway 19 North in Aiken County
Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton said a full set of skeletal remains was discovered around noon Saturday by a utility worker near Highway 19 North beyond Union Baptist Church Road, about half a mile from the Laurens Street Rutland Drive intersection. The remains likely dated 10 to 20 years, will be autopsied in Newberry Monday, and investigators will review missing person reports for clues.
