Assisted Living Project Heads To Aiken City Council Vote
A proposal to build a 48 room assisted living facility at Richland Avenue and Gregg Avenue will be heard by the Aiken City Council Monday. The plan calls for 4.1 acres rezoning from R-1 to R-2 with 48 rooms now and 48 more later, facing opposition from residents who annexed in 1989 for zoning protection. The council will also consider raising commercial garbage fees from 1.54 to 1.65 per cubic yard to cover landfill costs, with no residential or non commercial impact, at 7 30 p m in the Municipal Center.
