79 Are Arrested In SRP Protest
More than 100 officers confronted about 80 demonstrators at two Savannah River Plant entrances in Aiken County. Forty six women and 33 men were arrested on traffic charges as protesters blocked the New Ellenton and Jackson Gate entrances during a worldwide anti nuclear weapons protest. A bond hearing was set for today with potential bonds around 110 dollars, while some protesters pledged not to post bond.

Wreck Claims Two Lives From Aiken Family
Bill Taylor 55 and daughter Tina 23 died after a Saturday morning two car collision at the S C 19 and S C 191 intersection. Tina Christina died at Talmadge Hospital Augusta. Bill died at University Hospital Augusta of multiple body trauma. Mrs Taylor 51 and Joyce Nave 23 of Spartanburg injured. Powell 24 treated.
