Aiken County Board Rejects Landfill Fee Ordinance
The Aiken County Board of Commissioners defeated an amended landfill fee ordinance at their October meeting. The vote split along supporters and opponents with Chairman Graybeal abstaining. The measure would have set a 25 cent per resident per month fee and eliminated truck fee removals, aiming toward a single county landfill. Officials plan to refine the proposal and pursue state certification while preparing Langley for future operations.
