Obituary: H. Ted Hammond 1932 2005
H. Ted Hammond 73 died October 21 2005 at Coastal Carolina Medical Center Hardeeville. Born June 7 1932 in Portsmouth Ohio he served in the Air Force two years overseas in Japan and later built a food wholesale career becoming CEO. He lived in multiple states before settling in Hilton Head and Sun City then contributed to community groups and churches. He is survived by wife Doris three daughters and a granddaughter. A memorial service is set for October 29 in Aiken. Memorials may go to SPCA or a local charity.

York County Baptist leaders reversed August moves to sever ties with Oakland Baptist Church after a written clarification of the church stance on homosexuality.
