Kimberly-Clark plans mass cuts of up to 1,300 positions as part of a cost reducing overhaul. The company says most reductions will hit salaried workers with minimal effect on production staff and has not disclosed local impact. Restructuring costs are seen at 130 to 160 million dollars with 120 to 140 million in savings by year end 2017.
Rotary clubs in Aiken and North Augusta will deliver about 2,500 dictionaries to every third grader in Riker County this Friday, with kickoff at J D Lever Elementary School. The Dictionary Project, begun in 1995, aims to provide children with reference resources and word study tools.
The City of North Augusta plans to ask the state Supreme Court to take original jurisdiction of the Project Jackson appeal.
