Aiken Stars Move in Gala Dance Off at St Angela's Hall

Aiken's Dancing with the Aiken Stars Movers and Shakers Gala gathers seven couples plus two groups the Divas and Seven Men at Work for a charity event at St Angela's Hall on November 18 at 7 p.m. Voting is online or by mail with proceeds aiding Arts in Education via the Aiken Symphony Guild and the Concerto Competition for local students.

Toilet fundraiser draws crowds for St Jude drive at USC Aiken

Tau Kappa Epsilon members staged a 64 hour fundraising marathon outside the Student Activities Center using a toilet painted in USC colors. Three-person teams worked three hour shifts over 64 hours to raise donations for St Jude Children’s Hospital.

Aiken Council to vote on downtown park name Monday

City staff gathered public suggestions for the new park at York Street and Richland Avenue. Heritage Park is the first choice, York Street Park the second. council will vote at 7 p.m. in the City Municipal Building.

Apple Fest at St John’s UMC in Aiken Returns Nov 6

St John’s United Methodist Church hosts its annual Apple Fest on November 6 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Richland Avenue and Newberry Street downtown. The event features breakfast items, soup and sandwich lunch, garage sale items, crafts, quilts, silent auction, and entertainment to benefit Child Advocacy Center Helping Hands and Community Care and Counseling. Proceeds support three local charities and the theme is Lifting the Hearts of Others.
