Woman reports suspected scam call from so called law firm
Aiken Public Safety logs describe a scam call in which a man claimed to represent Grant Wallace Law Group and threatened a mother’s arrest on a non existent state department warrant. The caller’s Dallas area number was traced and the firm could not be located. In a separate incident, Tayquon Abney, 20, of Reid Drive, faced trespassing and throwing bodily fluids on an officer after a Laurel Drive trespass call. He resisted restraints, spat on the officer, and damaged vehicle equipment en route to jail.

A Beech Island woman reported a Sunday burglary on Pine Log Road with items taken from her bed. Additional incidents include thefts from a Graniteville business and a porch, a stolen roll of flooring, a vandalized car with explicit wording, a burglary on Alderman Street, a stolen TV, and other property losses across Aiken and surrounding areas. Police noted shell casings from a Dillon Avenue shooting but no injuries.
